OK Rent a Car is starting the process of recruiting new professional profiles that will strengthen the company’s workforce before the start of the new tourist season. As a result, the current number of employees will be increased by a further 150 people across the Majorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Formentera and Barcelona work centres.
“We are continuing with our social commitment to create stable, high-quality employment that contributes towards reducing the current unemployment rate” states the Executive Chairman and Founder of the company, Othman Ktiri. He stresses the importance of developing company policies that assist towards the so-desired deseasonalisation in areas strongly marked by seasonal tourist activity. “The main tourist agents, ourselves included, must promote the creation of new jobs and, in this way, facilitate their multiplying effect on other sectors and on the economy as a whole”, states the leader of this vehicle rental company that offers its services to residents and visitors 365 days a year.
The company is strongly committed to parity in the composition of its workforce. Consequently, 43% of employees are women and the average salary they receive is €16 more than the average annual salary received by men.
In the midst of an expansion process, OK Rent a Car has recently opened its first office outside of the Balearic Islands. The new facilities located in Barcelona are an addition to those already present in Majorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera. This growth phase has been strengthened with the creation of 60 new jobs in the last year. In coming months OK Rent a Car is expected to surpass the 300 employee mark, thus reinforcing its leadership in the industry.
